U.S. Army Sgt. Randy WeissCited

WHITE LAKE - Sergeant Randy Weiss was recently selected for attendance at the Seventh Army. Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy in Italy.

This honor is usually reserved for the top category of United States Soldiers in Europe.

Sergeant Weiss is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Weiss of White Lake.

The Army's report on Weiss' performance at the school said, 'Sergeant Weiss distinguished himself by being designated an Honor Graduate of the Seventh Army Noncommissioned Officers' Academy. His outstanding performance as a student at this Academy is commendable and is an indication that he will continue to demonstrate the highest standards of leadership and proficiency throughout his Army career.

"He further distinguished himself by attaining the highest leadership standing within his student platoon. For this accomplishment he has earned the "General Douglas A. MacArthur Award for Leadership". By distinguishing himself in competition with the finest noncommissioned officers in Europe, he has achieved one of the highest goals a noncommissioned officer may attain."
