The one room school in the Valley was on what used to be RT 17B now Gale
Road. Next to St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.
I went to this school in 1938-39 and 40.
Mae Van Vactor was the teacher of 4 grades 1-4.
I used to bring my dog Bum to school every day. He slept by the pot belly
wood burning stove, which heated this building. Until one day my dog got mixed up with a
skunk. After that he was not welcome at school.
This was also the voting place at that time.

After 4 grades in
this school we all moved up to the upper school, which become a 2 room school 1-8 grades.
This school was on the corner of what is now Airport Rd. + 17B
