Other areas have their summer theatres. Sullivan County has its summer theatres, too-but they are overwhelmed by a tide of entertainers that saturates every major hotel in the central part of the County with the brilliance and glamour of stardom. "Summer stock" is, in this neck of the vacationland woods, just one little item in a breath-taking amusement extravaganza that opens as early as May and doesn't close until Labor Day. In scores of hotel nightclubs, playhouses and ballrooms rivaling in splendor the smartest spots in New York, appear famous personalities of stage, screen, radio, television and the world of music. Many of them are back to visit the scene of their "first break. " And out on the fringe of dance-halls and small-hotel casinos, headliners of tomorrow are making their debuts. Many hotels cannot do with one orchestra; there are two or more, one usually specializing in Latin American rhythms. In many places, too, classes in rhumba and other dances are the thing.
